-Sondra Samuels, President & CEO – Northside Achievement Zone
“If you want to go fast, go alone. But if you want to go far, go together. Because we are more powerful together than we are by ourselves.”

In Minneapolis, there’s a 13- by-18-block area that’s federally-designated as a “Racially Concentrated Area of Poverty.” Northside Achievement Zone is committed to improving that area by ending the multi-generational poverty within it. NAZ uses strong community ties to create integrated support networks for families in the area that adjust to evolving goals, needs and aspirations. Do they encourage those parents and children to set ambitious goals? Yes. And then they walk with them every step of the way to help them achieve and exceed those goals.
